I know from experience that leaning on a trusted network is key to developing knowledge within the social business space. Working in a fast paced, forever changing landscape requires you to stay ahead of the curve and learn from others.  Welcome to the 2017 #OctoLeader Awards.

Cheryl Burgess wrote a book in 2013 called The Social Employee. The book showcases several smart companies and professionals who lead when it comes to Social Business transformation. Those who embrace a social culture from the inside out. Cheryl and I are now joining forces to discover new Social Business leaders and practitioners. Announcing The #OctoLeader Award

We're partnering to find lead practitioners in the Social Business space.  People that are driving transformational change in either Social Selling, Employee Advocacy or Social Recruitment.  Those practitioners that are inspiring employees to become social ambassadors and brand advocates.

We’re calling them #OctoLeaders.

Why #OctoLeaders?

octoleader

Well, for a start, social employees have, on average, eight times the reach of their brands.  They’re more trusted than brands and in many cases are better equipped to respond to the needs of the customer.

Brands that create dynamic leaders through employee advocacy not only have far greater reach, but they’re also smart, dynamic, and adaptive—just like the octopus.

Know An #OctoLeader?

If you know someone or are indeed you are someone who fits the bill, then we invite you to complete a short nomination form.

The deadline to submit nominations is August 15th 2017.

The #OctoLeader finalists will be chosen by Cheryl Burgess (@ckburgess), CEO, Blue Focus Marketing, and Sarah Goodall (@SarahGoodall), Founder, Tribal Impact - we're collaborating across the pond for this project.

Winners will be announced in blog posts in late September 2017.
